WHY PEOPLE WEAR A RED POPPY

Have you seen people wear a red poppy and wonder why?

It is a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community.

Millions of people in the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Belgium, Australia, and New Zealand wear red poppies during November to commemorate the anniversary of the 1918 armistice. Some in the U.S. such as many coaches and staff of the NHL wear them as well.
